The road to one of Asia’s biggest entertainment celebrations has officially begun. On July 28, the organizers of the 2026 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) unveiled the first wave of performers set to appear at this year’s ceremony, confirming LNGSHOT, &TEAM, and ATEEZ as the first artists joining the highly anticipated event. Scheduled to take place on December 5 and 6 at Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan, the announcement marks the start of what is expected to be months of exciting lineup reveals leading up to the annual awards show, which honors outstanding achievements in both Korean music and television.

Since its launch in 2016, the Asia Artist Awards has grown into one of the most prestigious entertainment ceremonies in Asia by bringing together actors, singers, and creators under one roof. Unlike many traditional award shows that focus exclusively on either music or television, AAA celebrates excellence across multiple entertainment industries, making it one of the few events where top K-pop idols and leading actors share the same stage. Each year, the ceremony also becomes a showcase for exclusive collaborations, elaborate performances, and memorable acceptance speeches that often dominate entertainment headlines long after the event concludes.

This year’s first lineup immediately signals the global direction of the awards. ATEEZ, one of K-pop’s leading performance groups, returns to the AAA stage following another successful year of worldwide touring and chart achievements. Renowned for their cinematic performances and powerful stage presence, the eight-member group has consistently delivered some of the ceremony’s most talked-about performances in previous years. Fans are already anticipating what kind of large-scale production the group will prepare for December.

Joining them is &TEAM, the nine-member multinational boy group under HYBE Labels Japan. Since debuting in 2022, &TEAM has steadily expanded its popularity across both Japan and South Korea through polished performances, synchronized choreography, and an evolving musical identity. Their inclusion reflects AAA’s continued commitment to highlighting artists with influence beyond the Korean market while strengthening the awards show’s pan-Asian appeal.

Rounding out the first announcement is LNGSHOT, one of the newest names added to this year’s lineup. While many international fans are still becoming familiar with the group, organizers clearly see them as one of the emerging acts worth watching in 2026. Their appearance alongside established performers like ATEEZ and &TEAM offers an opportunity to introduce themselves to a broader global audience on one of the industry’s biggest stages.

The awards ceremony itself will once again be guided by a high-profile hosting team. Organizers previously confirmed that actor Ji Chang Wook and IVE’s Jang Won Young will serve as the main MCs. For Jang Won Young, the event marks her sixth consecutive year as an AAA host, further cementing her reputation as one of Korea’s most recognizable award show presenters. Ji Chang Wook, meanwhile, will make his debut as an MC for the ceremony, bringing his experience and international popularity to the stage. Their pairing is expected to attract both drama enthusiasts and K-pop fans from around the world.

As in previous years, the organizers have confirmed that additional performer announcements will be released gradually over the coming months. That means some of K-pop’s biggest names have yet to be revealed, fueling speculation across social media about which artists will join this year’s lineup. With global fan voting already underway and anticipation steadily building, excitement surrounding AAA 2026 is only expected to grow.

The 2026 Asia Artist Awards will be held on December 5 and 6 at Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan. Fans can look forward to more artist announcements, presenter confirmations, and special stage reveals as the countdown to one of Asia’s biggest entertainment events continues.
