Ahn Hyo Seop Takes On A High-Stakes Culinary Battle In “Final Table”

Ahn Hyo Seop is trading romance and fantasy for the kitchen in the upcoming drama “Final Table,” which has released its first teaser ahead of its October premiere. The series follows Korean chefs from around the world as they compete in a fictional high-pressure survival competition called “The Table: K-Chef 2026.”

Ahn Hyo Seop plays Kang Han, a chef who initially appears unusually calm while surrounded by competitors fighting for the coveted championship title.

The teaser quickly reveals that Kang Han’s relaxed attitude should not be mistaken for a lack of ambition. As the competition intensifies, he becomes completely absorbed in his cooking, carefully working on his dish while other contestants scramble for ingredients and clash under pressure.

The competition itself appears designed to combine the drama of a survival show with the visual appeal of Korean cuisine. Contestants are expected to demonstrate technical skill, creativity and the ability to perform under intense time pressure.

The series gives Ahn Hyo Seop another opportunity to take on a character outside his recent romantic roles. The actor is known internationally for dramas including Business Proposal, Dr. Romantic 2 and A Time Called You. His performance in Business Proposal in particular helped establish him as one of the most recognizable faces in modern romantic K-drama.

Final Table instead places him in an environment built around ambition and competition. Kang Han’s confidence is evident in the teaser, especially when he delivers a bold declaration about his chances of winning.

The drama also arrives during a period when Korean food culture has become increasingly visible internationally, making a Korean culinary competition potentially appealing to viewers beyond the traditional K-drama audience.

“Final Table” premieres on October 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST. The first teaser suggests viewers can expect intense cooking battles, ambitious competitors and plenty of personality clashes once the competition begins.
