Summary:
Ji-young and her new acquaintance Seo Gil‑geum try to adapt to their surroundings, but trouble soon finds them. While seated by a river, they’re captured by the chaehong guards (women abducted for palace use) and taken to Governor Hong’s residence.
Ji-young begins to accept she has been transported in time. She is forced into cooking for the governor’s event under harsh conditions and makes a deal: if she succeeds, she and the women will be spared. Meanwhile, King Yi Heon arrives to taste her dish and is surprised by the modern seasoning technique.
At the end, the king discards her bag (which contains the mysterious cookbook she used for time-slip) over a cliff, asserting control and reminding Ji-young her freedom is gone. Judiciary and palace politics deepen: the king’s motive for revenge (linked to his mother’s death) becomes clearer.
