Netflix has released a new poster and teaser for “Take Charge of My Heart,” revealing the unusual contract at the centre of the upcoming romantic comedy starring Kim Young Kwang and Chae Soo Bin. The drama premieres on October 9.
Based on a web novel, the series follows Baek Ho Rang, played by Kim Young Kwang, a cool and controlled man whose artificial heart is running out of power.
His unusual solution arrives in the form of Na Bo Bae, played by Chae Soo Bin, a woman with electrical abilities.
Bo Bae’s powers have made everyday life difficult because ordinary physical contact can produce unexpected electrical reactions. Ho Rang, however, is immune to her electricity. More importantly, he discovers that his artificial heart charges more quickly when he is near her.
That discovery leads to one of the drama’s strangest romance arrangements.
Ho Rang proposes that the two live together for three months so he can use her electrical energy to keep his artificial heart running. He is also motivated by his desire to secure his succession to the powerful TS Group.
Bo Bae accepts the arrangement for a very different reason. Her own romantic life has essentially stalled, and she wants to complete a romance script by experiencing the kind of relationship she has been writing about. The result is a mutually beneficial “charging contract.”
Naturally, things do not remain simple.
A love triangle enters the story through top celebrity Ji Eun Ho, played by Cha Woo Min, who happens to be Bo Bae’s biggest fan. Meanwhile, TS Group’s troublemaker Choi Do Yoon, played by Jung Jae Kwang, and strategist Han Seol Hee, played by Shin Do Hyun, add further complications.
The new teaser highlights the chemistry and comedic tension created by the bizarre arrangement, while also establishing the emotional stakes behind Ho Rang’s artificial heart.
“Take Charge of My Heart” premieres on Netflix on October 9. The teaser suggests viewers can expect supernatural romance, workplace-style power struggles, a forced cohabitation setup and a love triangle built around an unusually literal form of “heart charging.”
