KARD Announces Disbandment After Nine Years, Final Album and World Tour to Mark Group’s Farewell

K-pop’s beloved co-ed group KARD is preparing to close one of the industry’s most unique chapters. On July 6, DSP Media officially announced that KARD will disband following the release of their upcoming first full-length album, “Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE,” and a final world tour. The decision comes after extensive discussions between the agency and all four members, marking the end of the group’s activities after nearly nine years together.

According to DSP Media, the members mutually agreed that their upcoming promotions would serve as KARD’s final chapter as a group. Rather than ending their journey immediately, the quartet chose to give fans one last comeback and a chance to meet them on stage around the world before officially parting ways.

KARD, consisting of BM, J.Seph, Somin, and Jiwoo, debuted in 2017 with the pre-debut project singles “Oh NaNa,” “Don’t Recall,” and “Rumor” before officially launching with “Hola Hola.” At a time when the K-pop industry was almost exclusively dominated by boy groups and girl groups, KARD carved out a distinctive identity as one of the few successful co-ed idol groups.

Over the years, the group became known for blending EDM, tropical house, Latin-inspired rhythms, hip-hop, and pop into a sound that appealed strongly to international audiences. Songs such as “Bomb Bomb,” “Dumb Litty,” “Gunshot,” “Ring The Alarm,” and “ICKY” helped build a loyal global fanbase known as HIDDEN KARD, while their energetic performances and extensive overseas touring established them as regular performers across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

The announcement comes just days after DSP Media revealed plans for KARD’s long-awaited first full-length album. What initially appeared to be the beginning of a new era has now become a farewell project, giving added emotional significance to the release. The agency expressed gratitude to fans who have supported the group since their debut and thanked the members for their dedication throughout the years. It also encouraged fans to continue supporting BM, J.Seph, Somin, and Jiwoo as they pursue individual careers after group activities conclude.

Although the news has saddened fans worldwide, many have welcomed the opportunity to celebrate the group’s legacy properly rather than seeing an abrupt end. The final comeback is expected to serve as both a celebration of KARD’s musical journey and a heartfelt goodbye to the fans who have stood beside them since 2017.
