tvN has released a delightful new teaser for its upcoming romantic comedy My Bias, My Boss, offering viewers a closer look at the fangirl heart of its heroine. Unveiled on July 5, the special “light stick unboxing” teaser stars Kim Hye Joon as Nam Da Reum, a devoted K-pop fan whose dream of working alongside her favorite idol takes an unexpected turn when she catches the attention of her company’s CEO. The lighthearted preview introduces the drama’s unique blend of workplace romance, idol culture, and comedy ahead of its premiere next month.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, My Bias, My Boss follows Nam Da Reum, a passionate fan who lands a job at fashion startup Apello for one reason only: to be closer to her longtime idol Lee Chan, played by Cha Woo Min. Lee Chan is not only a member of the fictional idol group D.N.X, but also serves as Apello’s fashion director, making the company the perfect workplace for someone determined to become what Korean fans affectionately call a “successful fan” or seongdeok.

The newly released teaser cleverly imitates the style of a real K-pop merchandise unboxing video. Sitting in front of the camera, Nam Da Reum excitedly unwraps D.N.X’s official light stick, proudly explaining that it was incredibly difficult to purchase because of its popularity. She then eagerly opens a new set of Lee Chan photocards, admiring each collectible with the enthusiasm familiar to K-pop fans worldwide. However, her excitement quickly turns into confusion when she discovers an unexpected photocard featuring Apello CEO Kang Ha Gi, portrayed by Kang Hoon, mixed in with her idol collection. Believing it to be nothing more than a factory mistake, she casually tosses the CEO’s photo aside, completely unaware that he is about to become the most important person in her daily life.

The teaser concludes with Nam Da Reum proudly revealing her new employee ID card while announcing that she has officially joined Apello. Declaring that she is on her way to becoming a true “successful fan,” she beams with excitement at the opportunity to support Lee Chan from within the company itself. While her dream appears to be coming true, viewers already know that her carefully planned fangirl journey is about to take an unexpected romantic detour.

Another recently released promotional poster hints at the emotional conflict awaiting Nam Da Reum. Positioned between her beloved idol and her reserved but charismatic CEO, she finds herself torn between the celebrity she has admired for years and the boss who unexpectedly begins to change her life. The tagline playfully asks whether her biggest workplace perk is really her favorite idol, or whether the company’s CEO will become the true surprise in her story.

Kim Hye Joon, who earned widespread acclaim through projects such as Kingdom, Inspector Koo, and The Killing Vote, brings her trademark warmth and comedic timing to the role of Nam Da Reum. Alongside her, Kang Hoon continues to build on his growing popularity following performances in The Red Sleeve, Little Women, and Dear Hyeri, while Cha Woo Min adds fresh energy as the charming idol at the center of the love triangle. Together, the trio promises a refreshing romantic comedy that captures both the excitement of idol fandom and the realities of office life.

With its playful concept, relatable K-pop references, and lovable characters, My Bias, My Boss is already shaping up to be one of tvN’s most anticipated romance dramas of the summer. Fans can look forward to more teasers, character introductions, and behind-the-scenes content before the series officially premieres on August 3 at 8:50 p.m. KST. International viewers will also be able to stream the drama on Viki following its broadcast.
