Q1: Introduce yourself like a K-drama fanatic?
Yeorobun annyeonghaseyo Iyanoluwa mida
Q2: How did you first get interested in k-dramas, and what was the first drama you ever watched?
My first ever kdrama to watch was Boys Before Flowers and it was around 2012–2013, I was in secondary school then.
Q3: What are some of your all-time favourite k-dramas, and what makes them stand out to you?
There are so many, gosh do I dare count. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim is a fave for many reasons, like the two leads are my faves and I love the romance. Another drama I love is The King’s Daughter, it was the first sageuk I watched and I instantly loved Seo Hyun Jin. My Girl is a really amazing drama and it was the first Lee Joon Gi drama I watched and I loved everything about it. There are so many from Moonshine, to Iljimae, to King Eternal Monarch — really any good drama I can relate to.
Q4: Have you ever traveled to Korea or another country specifically because of your love for k-dramas? If not, would you like to?
I will definitely travel to South Korea — maybe not soon, but I will. The plan is to take a friend of mine that loves dramas as much as I do and travel around as much as possible. Eat, drink, make new friends and maybe find ourselves some cute Korean guys lol.
Q5: How has watching k-dramas impacted your life, if at all? Do you find yourself incorporating themes or lessons from dramas into your daily life?
Kdramas have raised my standards of love life and really any type of relationship. I have learnt to be sensitive to people and their feelings but I have also learnt more than anything how to stay grounded in my reality and to live in the present.
Q6: Tell us about an annoying misconception people have had about you just because you watch K-dramas or listen to K-pop
That I can’t differentiate between fictional worlds and the real world, which is hilarious because I have better grounding in the real world than a lot of people I know.
Q7: Recommend just one K-drama you think everyone should watch?
This is the hardest question though lol but I recommend Flower of Evil.
