Q1: Introduce yourself like a K-drama fanatic?

Hi, I’m Praise. I rant, laugh and cry over K-dramas. My ideal Saturday is binge watching and live texting my best friend the entire time.

Q2: How did you first get interested in k-dramas, and what was the first drama you ever watched?

It all started during the lockdown in 2020. I was looking for something to keep me sane and entertained. The first drama I watched was Boys over Flowers. The rest is history 😅

Q3: What are some of your all-time favourite k-dramas, and what makes them stand out to you?

Descendants of the sun — The chemistry and chaos was everything. Mr Queen — I laughed so much. The King’s Affection — Loved the characters and the story. My Name — Had me crying and screaming at the same time. The Heirs — The nostalgia of this drama is unmatched.

Q4: Have you ever traveled to Korea or another country specifically because of your love for k-dramas? If not, would you like to?

Not yet but it’s definitely on my list. I want to walk on the same streets I’ve watched so many times on screen and soak in the culture.

Q5:How has watching k-dramas impacted your life, if at all? Do you find yourself incorporating themes or lessons from dramas into your daily life?

Definitely! It’s made me more open to new cultures, interested in learning Korean and improved my sense of storytelling and fashion. I also catch myself using phrases like “omo ottoke” 😂

Q6:Tell us about an annoying misconception people have had about you just because you watch K-dramas or listen to K-pop

That I want to marry a Korean man or that I’m unserious. It’s just another form of entertainment and for some of us it’s how we wind down.

Q7:Recommend just one K-drama you think everyone should watch?

Mr Queen! It’s funny, chaotic, historical and such a great mix of genres. It will keep you hooked.
