Netflix has confirmed that “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” will return for both Seasons 2 and 3, with Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Yoon Kyung Ho, Jeong Jae Kwang and Jeong Yein set to star. The announcement was made on October 19, marking a major commitment to the Korean medical drama’s future.

The original series follows Baek Kang Hyuk, played by Ju Ji Hoon, a brilliant trauma surgeon who arrives at a struggling hospital and sets out to rebuild its Severe Trauma Care team. His uncompromising approach to emergency medicine puts him at odds with institutional bureaucracy, but his focus remains on saving patients who might otherwise be lost.

Choo Young Woo returns as Yang Jae Won, Baek Kang Hyuk’s protégé who learns from the surgeon’s demanding methods. Yoon Kyung Ho reprises his role as Han Yu Rim, the hospital’s chief of planning and coordination, while Jeong Jae Kwang returns as anesthesiologist Park Gyeong Won.

Jeong Yein will take on the role of veteran nurse Cheon Jang Mi. She replaces Ha Young, who voluntarily stepped away from the series following controversy involving her family history. The casting change is an important production detail, as the character remains part of the medical team at the heart of the drama.

The renewal is notable because Netflix has confirmed two additional seasons simultaneously rather than announcing only one follow-up. That gives the production a longer runway to develop the characters and the hospital’s ongoing struggles. However, the platform has not yet announced premiere dates for either season.

Director Lee Do Yoon will direct and write Season 2. He will also direct Season 3, with a new writer, Tomasi, joining the writing team for that instalment. The change in writing personnel could allow the story to develop while retaining continuity in its direction and principal cast.

The first season found an audience through its mix of medical emergencies, workplace conflict and the central character’s forceful personality. Its return gives fans a chance to see how the trauma team develops after the events of the original series.

Seasons 2 and 3 are confirmed for production, but Netflix has not yet shared release dates or detailed plot summaries. More information about filming and the new seasons’ storylines is expected in future announcements.
