NMIXX are officially returning this autumn. JYP Entertainment’s girl group announced on September 21 that their sixth EP, “Strange Muse,” will be released on October 19 at 6 p.m. KST, with the complete track list unveiled alongside the comeback announcement.
The project gives NMIXX another opportunity to showcase the genre-mixing approach that has become one of their trademarks.
Since debuting in 2022 with “O.O,” NMIXX have developed a reputation for songs that deliberately shift between contrasting musical styles. Their early releases introduced the group’s “MIXX POP” identity, blending different genres and structures within individual tracks.
Although the group initially divided opinion with their unconventional sound, subsequent releases such as “Love Me Like This,” “DASH” and “See that?” demonstrated how NMIXX could gradually broaden that musical identity without abandoning experimentation.
“Strange Muse” now becomes the group’s sixth EP and another step in that evolution.
The title itself suggests a concept built around inspiration, mystery and artistic transformation. The track list announcement gives fans an early glimpse into what the album will contain, but the group has not yet revealed every visual detail of the era.
NMIXX’s comeback is also arriving during an exceptionally crowded October schedule. Several major acts and rising groups have already announced autumn releases, meaning the group will enter a competitive period for music-show trophies, streaming attention and physical album sales.
For NMIXX, however, the challenge is familiar.
The group has consistently leaned into theatrical concepts and elaborate performance rather than trying to follow whichever sound happens to dominate the charts. That has helped create a distinct identity for Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin.
The comeback will also allow fans to see how the group’s musical direction has developed since their previous releases.
One of the most interesting aspects of NMIXX’s career has been watching the members grow from rookies associated with a highly experimental debut into performers capable of handling both conventional pop songs and more unusual arrangements.
“Strange Muse” could therefore reveal another stage of that progression.
The promotional schedule is expected to unfold over the coming weeks, with concept photographs, videos and other materials gradually revealing the album’s world.
NMIXX’s sixth EP “Strange Muse” releases October 19 at 6 p.m. KST. Track-specific teasers and concept content should arrive before the full release.
